This is a freshman level course meant to introduce students to the field of economics. This course will cover all the topics that are central to a first course in economics. The objective of the course is to make the students aware of the basic concepts on the principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics. The course also seeks to lay essential foundations for those who want to purse further studies in this subject and ultimately help you to learn to think like an economist.
This course aims:
To demonstrate the importance and significance of liberal arts education
To develop an understanding of the basic economics and its relevance to the real word
To prepare the students for economics major
To improve the reading, writing, comprehension and critical thinking skills of the students
To familiarize students with the mission statement & core values of the institution
Economics juniors and seniors are not allowed to register this course. Students who have not studied Economics at Intermediate or A Level, should register this course before ECON 101 and ECON 102. Students who have passed ECON 101 and/or ECON 102 are not
